CLIMB FOR LIFE

Climb for Life is a not for profit trust formed by a group of volunteer rock climbers based in Melbourne, Australia.

Climb for Life aims to provide disadvantaged young people with an opportunity for personal growth and achievement through the medium of rock climbing. Using climbing, abseiling and camping activities, Climb for Life endeavours to provide each participant with: a sense of responsibility; the courage and confidence to overcome fear; and opportunities to experience first hand the benefits of trust and teamwork.

Each Climb for Life programme runs over three consecutive weekends and includes:

        -    two indoor climbing sessions where participants meet each other and Climb for Life volunteers who support and encourage participants.  Participants learn basic climbing techniques and the important skills of belaying.

        -    a final outdoor climbing and camping weekend in the spectacular Grampians National Park in western Victoria.  Over the two days, participants take on challenging rock climbs and abseils of increasing difficulty, finishing with an exciting 60 metre abseil.

Climb for Life works with other Youth Groups to ensure that our programmes are aimed at young people who will gain the most from them.  Youth Groups that have participated in past Climb for Life programmes include Lighthouse Foundation, Reach, Western Young Peoples Independent Network, Sudanese Australian Integrated Learning Program, Inner Eastern Local Learning and Employment Network, SPAUMAY and Good Shepherd.

Climb for Life funds all its programmes through the generosity of donations, sponsorship and fundraising.  In order to continue providing our programmes, Climb for Life needs your help. Please contact us if you wish to make a donation or have a contact or recommendation for sponsorship.
